A bit on the upper end of mid-priced hiking boots, but one of the most comfortable pair of hiking boots I've ever owned! Below is my grading system for hiking boots.
Grip: 8/10
Ankle Protection: 8/10
Ventilation: 6/10
Durability: 9/10
Water Resistance: 9/10
Value: 8/10
Long Term Comfort: 8/10
What can I say other than Timberland has cornered the market when it comes to an efficient, stylish, functional hiking boot. I've tried other brands, and they just don't compare. And the White Ledge Mids are hands down my favorite from this company. It's like sliding your foot into a basket of happy. Trust me when I say that an all-night trek is nothing to these bad boys. Pick up a pair and your feet will thank you.
Pros: Provide protection and comfort for hours. I've walked the Stairway to Heaven, Hawaii in these pillow pumps. Water resistance is awesome! The mid-rise provides a perfect amount of ankle protection and ensures your feet stay dry.
Cons: Not the most breathable boots out there. If you run hot, your feet may sweat a bit. But hey, that's a small price to pay for everything these boots provide. Price may be a bit much for our budget backpackers.
